Dalmatian Puppy Picture Gallery

Puppies, Cole and Salem from our 2004 litter.

Although we no longer breed Dalmatians, we do love them and enjoy looking back at some of the puppies that were born here.

Dalmatian puppies are born all white unless they have a patch, which is visible at birth. We only bred our Dalmatians after they had health clearances, including OFA cleared hips and bi-lateral hearing. Each puppy was also hearing tested at six weeks of age. All our Dalmatian puppies were co-bred and co-owned with Dakota Dalmatians.

A Dal puppy, just a few hours old, meets his mother.

Socialization with people is very important, so we started working with them at an early age. Visitors were encouraged to handle and play with each pup. We always allowed the pups explore new spaces both inside and outside the house.

Puppies have fun with visitors.

Puppies often chose to sleep in their crates, even when the door was open! Playtime with the older dogs was fun too and part of the socialization process.

They practiced walking on lead and took short rides in the car. At this age, they  had many visitors and ventured deeper into the yard, woods and fields.

Indoor and outdoor play and training continue as the pups grow up.

While even five week old pups play hard in the tunnel, puppies that were still with us at 10-12 weeks learned basic commands and were working with the neighbor kids on the agility equipment. While not every puppy will become an agility dog, we found that negotiating the obstacles gave the puppies confidence and that they really enjoyed it. It was also a wonderful outlet for puppy exuberance, but we were careful to not let them jump too high or face equipment they are not ready to tackle. Plenty of treats and praise made training fun.

In the summer months, puppies that had all their inoculations started traveling with us. They became accustomed to travel and being on the show grounds with all its strange sights and sounds. They were entered in puppy matches and watched from ringside as the older dogs were shown in the regular classes.

These two 6 mos. old puppies enjoy the view
of the show grounds from the grooming table.

We did our best to provide every Dalmatian puppy with the best start in life possible. They were fed high quality food, were hearing tested, had regular veterinary checkups and care and most of all, were given early socialization, basic training and love. It was our goal to continually work to improve the breed and to raise happy, healthy, well-adjusted puppies.
